the adventures of Upperman: The beginning

  • Chapter 6, chapter 6: The hero's temple

John is tested at a unknown temple

John was in his fighting stance, waiting for his foe's to appear, no one did. moments later he decided no one was coming, so he walked the halls that said "Chamber of Hero's" "this hall was very large, and it had millions of pictures of guy's and girls, some at which dated from the 11th century, as it showed the years there were born and died. "what is this place" John said in his breath "Chamber of Hero's" my friend, didn't you read the sign" someone said in the room "who is there" john yelled he looked everywhere, at the end of the hall, up the ceiling, and back of him, he wasn't to be found anywhere "Just a friend" the voice said while john kept on looking "the consul wants to see you in action, they want to know if you really aren't a waste of power" the voice said "I would think quickly my friend if you want to survive, because the game is starting right......NOW" the voice said. then out of nowhere the hero's in the paintings came out, walking straight out of there paintings. John was outnumbered, he had been training for 2 days, he was no match for them, so he ran, ran towards the other side of the hallway. "you cannot run away from your destiny boy" the voice said as he was running, the hero's were closing in on him, he was doomed, until he heard a noise, like his power balls, he dodged heroes that were flying at him, then someone spoke loud enough for him to hear in the crowd "they have been hexed, head towards the exit, I ll fight off as many as I can" a voice called out to him, he know it was a man, but couldn't see him, he didn't have time to figure out, he ran as the voice said to the exit, thanks to him all the hexed hero's were paying attention to the guy that was fighting random hero's. he finally made it, but he went the wrong way, the door said "council of hero's" on it, it was to dangerous to go back, he had nowhere to go, and it seemed the hexed hero's were wining the fight, which meant John was running out of time, so without thinking he opened the door and went in. it was a dark, empty room, there where 4 sits that were all in a big circle, they were normal sits like any other, except they were black and had name plates on the back on them. he walked into the circle of chairs. looking at the room. then out of nowhere, they appeared out of the darkness, 4 guys, they were in blue hoods, so John couldn't see them. they all sat and one talked "ah I see that you have survived, only by luck" another yelled "he would of been killed if the hero hadn't arrived, yet there is little hope for him" then another yelled "look at you all, talking about this boy, we tried to kill the only hope for this universe, even you, urepus have tried to kill him, and you are judging him before we get to see his true powers" then the other man called urepus spoke "no, we tested him, not tried to kill him, we would never kill a hero" "ALL LIES" the man said "enough" the last man yelled "I will be the one to judge him,he will show me his powers" they all stopped talking, and they suddenly disappeared, the chairs, the man in blue, only one man was left, the man walked in a circle around him, then after a while grabbed John's medallion, which somehow was back on his neck, and said to it "reveal your true power" suddenly John felt a sensation like no other, the ground was moving like an earthquake, Johns eyes turned to brown, to dark blue, he was lifted of the ground by an unknown force, John felt the power. then the man looked in amazement and said "yes ultimate power" John couldn't control it, he started to throw power balls here and there, make things appear out of now where, after a minute or two he stopped and fainted.
