the adventures of Upperman: The beginning

He felt now at home in the hideout, getting any chance he could to see what's happing in eastwood. They found it weird that a kid would want to watch the news all the time, and then watch cartoons or movies. John wanted to know how much crime was out there, who was causing it, and why. He felt for the people of Eastwood. He felt like he was useless in the hideout, he knew he could save this city.

When the next day came around, all was quiet. John was on the coach about to go to sleep. he awoke in a small park, he looked around, he was standing right in front of a statue that said "this monument is dictated to Upperboy and his great bravery and courage all these 20 years" he looked up, the statue looked like an older version of him. John heard voice's from afar "give up hero, you cant beat me" an evil voice said, John ran towards the voice, it seemed it was in the middle of the park, he watched as a battle of hero vs. villain ravaged on "That's were your wrong, for you see I Have mastered the dark power" said the man in red "no impossible, that would mean you have...." the evil man on fire stopped. John thought, maybe this was his future. "Let not my son share the same fate as me, forgive me" the man in red said as he powered up what looked like a power ball, except it was black. He was holding it for a minute and then pushed it out of his hand, then John heard a voice "John, John" suddenly he woke up and sprang up. "what, who" said John "good, your up, its time to show you the outside" Shadowman said John was excited, it was the first time he would be able to get out of this place. So John went to his room, and put on the outfit that would desire him, Shadowman said they would be looking for him if he went out in public as the hero of the universe. Before he left, he had to disguise his medallion, taking it off would be dangerous and stupid, it was the thing that protected him. He decided to spray-paint it black, and wash it out with water guy's lab stuff later.

"ok am ready" he said as he came out, he was wearing a black shirt and blue pants, that seemed to been attacked by a dog, and his shoes were red and black "ahh, I can barely recognize you" shadow guy said, coldly "be careful shadow guy, don't be reckless" waterguy said as he came out of his lab "you know me" shadow guy said as he was leaving with John in the elevator

The elevator hadn't changed one bit, everything seemed the same "now kid, your gonna love this" shadow guy said. He pushed the button to the first floor. the elevator didn't do anything "it didn't work" John said "wait for it" shadow guy softy said, he waited, he was about to talk again when, when the elevator did the same thing as last time, went really fast and it almost felt like his skin was about to come off, he of course screamed, in till it came to a halt. "ahh here's our stop" shadow guy said as he helped John off the ground" you think we could go a little slower or change the speed on that thing" John said "no, we need all the time we got, and waiting for a long time in the elevator isn't going to help us at all" shadow said "no, lets us go"

as John looked around, he notice everything of the room looked the same, it was dark, and gloomy, cobwebs everywhere, it looked like the hole thing was going to fall apart, John said nothing as it was not important as what they were going to do. "the first thing you must know on these streets John, is to never trust anybody, anyone could led you to a trap" shadow guy said as they were walking down the sidewalk of the dark and busy streets "and also to make sure nobody gets hurt, you cannot endanger people's lives, I have seen to many hero's do that to get personal gain the hero's before you should know alot about that" he said "now, see that guy over there" shadow guy pointed, John saw it, he was a red dressed guy, with one hand in his pocket and a cigarette in the other "my hero senses are telling me that he's up to no good, go catch him and bring him to justice, don't worry if anything goes wrong just use the watch, I ill be right here" shadow guy said as he pushed John out in the street. John was nervous, as he looked back; he was afraid something would go wrong.

John walked in the store the man went in, it was a one of those stores that you would see at a gas station, but because of the little room the city had, it was not as big as a real store would be. John looked around keeping a close eye on the guy, the guy looked around, at the candy, drinks, everything. he finally picked up a drink and went to the counter, John was relived, it was just a normal guy, buying a drink, nothing to worry about

"that will be 2.99$" the clerk man said" oh, I wont be paying this time, you will" the man said as he pulled out a gun in his pocket "put the money in the bag" he said as he through a bag to him. John did the only thing he could do, or what every other hero in the comics would do, pointed at him and said "not so fast!!!" the man looked back "are you talking to me, do you want to get killed today kid" the man said as he was getting ready to fire. John put his right hand behind his back and got ready to use one of his power balls "go ahead do it!!" John said with excitement "say good night hero" the criminal said as he fired, but John had already gotten out of the way and fired his power ball, the guy was stunned for a spilt second, this was John's chance to get the gun away from the guy, without warring, John ran up to him and kicked the hand were the gun was, and the gun fell to the floor, screaming very loudly now, the guy started to fight with John, but unlike the fight at his old town, he was ready. the guy was amazed at how strong John was, he couldn't believed it, after a minute John finally smashed the criminal outside and crashing into a police car, with the criminal dazed, John toke out the chains that water guy give him and tied him up near the cruiser were the police men would get him, John was cheered by the people, but he wasn't there anymore, Shadow man suggested that he will still have to be undercover, until he was finished with his training.

"excellent my friend, you sure are the hero, now there's one more stop we need to take" shadow guy said when John got back on the other side of the street "were" John asked "the Arena, of course, we need to see how strong you can be, without your HOTU powers doing it for you" shadow man said as they walked in the abyss
