As she walked out side George was in the driveway.
"Where are you going?" he inquired.
"I was going to get something to eat." She said nervously
"Well come on I'll take you out." He said.
"George this really isn't a good idea." She said.
"Why not you said you were going out to eat anyways I'll take you."
"No that's ok I couldn't let you do that after coming to get me last night."
"Look something was after you yesterday. I don't think it's safe for you to be walking out in the middle of the night!" he said in a concerned voice.
He had a point but she had already dragged him in to this. He wasn't safe. "Ok, where are we going?" She said giving in.
He opened the door the truck and lifted her in a bit. He went to the driver's side and turned on the engine. For the most part there was an awkward silence in the car for most of the way. When they passed the grocery store she held her breath. There he was she could see him lurking in the shadows. He had seen her too. She could here him whisper in her ear telepathically "Well, well, what do we have here? So this is why you didn't show up we'll see what happens at the end of the night."
"What's wrong?" George asked.
"Nothing why?" she replied.
"You're hiding something from me." He said as he pulled into the parking lot. "Tell me we're not leaving till you tell me what's wrong! You're as pale as a ghost!"
"Look I can't explain your in danger we need to get out of here I'll explain it to you later! Can we just leave?"
"That's what you said last night." He was cut off by the sound of a knock on the window. A local cop had pulled into the parking lot next to them.
"DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR!" she demanded.
"Oh so your hiding from the cops!" he said. The knocking continued. "Yes officer." He said as he rolled down the window.
"Are you folks alright?" the officer said.
"Were fine!" she said recognizing the voice as the creature from the forest.
"You sure? If you two are planning on "parking" here tonight please find another spot." The creature said. Suddenly he lashed out and grabbed his throat of George. He was paralyzed.
"So you planed to drag pretty boy into this. I could kill him right now," Threatened the creature. "but I couldn't let such good looks go to waste perhaps I should take them. Then were would you be?"
"Don't you dare change him into a demon like you! He had nothing to do with our unfinished business! Now let him go." She said
"Keep the mortal! But you're killing your blood line!" he hissed as he slithered away into the darkness of the forest.
She looked over to see that George was completely knocked out. If he had seen anything it would be easy to convince him that he was dreaming. She took George's body from the front seat and put him in the passenger side. She took the key and started the car. He stayed asleep the whole way home and when they got to his house she carefully took him inside with out him waking. She took off his boots and cleaned him up a bit and put him in bed. She put the keys on the counter and everything looked as if he had came home from work and gone right to bed. If that wasn't enough she had placed a dreaming charm on him! Before she left she had placed a strong protection spell on his house it should hold for only a few days. By then she could have that guy off of her trail and he would be safe
It wasn't too far of a walk home so she would be safe. When she got home she refreshed the charm and headed to bed.
