Night Work

I work nights. I sleep in the morning and play with my kids in the afternoon. When evening rolls around, after I make the family a nice dinner, I kiss my wife good bye, drive to "the office" and write my suicide note. Some of the guys I work with don't write a new note for each day. Instead they once wrote a generic note and keep that with them. I feel my wife and kids need more than that.

Not only does my family deserve more, but it is a good way to keep things fresh in my mind. Reliving the past few days in your mind, writing down the fun parts and how much you love your family, these are things that are good for the soul and I'd recommend everyone do it as often as they can.

I have a standard middle of the letter, stating why I decided to shoot myself . How it was no ones fault but my own. I had been hiding the feelings too long, blah blah blah. I then end the letter with best wishes for everyone to have a bright future and to forgive me if they can.

Thinking of the future and asking forgiveness for past sins is another thing I think everyone should do. But then again, I make a living with the barrel of a gun to my head, so what do I know?
