Chapter 1 : Short Story - No Chapters
In the past thirteen years I've wished for many things;
fame, an unlimited credit card - a proper family.
Up until last month, I had convinced myself that throwing my spare change into the local wishing well had been a waste of allowance - considering that the adoption agency was frequently dealing with bankruptcy.
It had never crossed my mind that someday, all my wishes would be granted.
"Holly! Holly Jenkins!? Could you come up here for a second!?"
Called out a recognizably deep, female voice; Angie, the adoption agency manager.
I folded back my warm, Betty Boop duvet and stepped out onto the cold, hard slate.
"Miss Jenkins!" Angie called again.
I sighed, searching for my slippers in the sea of dirty laundry and old food wrappers.
I sensed movement behind me - my roommate, Ebony was buried under her covers, her stifled moaning barely (...more)
