Portrayl Has Launched
- 10th Mar 2007
The alpha version of Portrayl has gone live today (finally!).
If you've not already read the spiel, the aim of Portrayl is to give writers a place to showcase their works and write stories a chapter at a time.
The twist? Well, the cool part is that other users can add chapters to your stories, but your chapters stay in tact.
Everytime a user contributes to an existing story, a unique version of that story is created that can be added to by others. It's like a tree branching off into different directions.
The hope is to create exciting and compelling content without sacrificing the freedom and creative vision of a single user.
But Portrayl isn't only a site for writers. All the content on this site is available to read! So for anyone who enjoys to read, this site will be a constant source of exciting books. And because each story has multiple different paths, you'll be able to explore a whole host of narratives for a single story.
If you like the idea of Portrayl, go ahead and register. Today marks the start of alpha testing for the site. If you find any bugs or have any feature requests, please send us some feedback by email or leave us a message on the forum.
Thanks and enjoy
