Chapter 1 : Feauty Queen
"...and this year's Miss Universe is..." Incessant drumroll barely shrouded the screams and cheers from the audience. The presenter winks conspiratorially at the camera. "AAAdele Simmondsssssssss!"
"Surprise, surprise."
Matt smiled at his flatmate's predictably cynical response. He carefully sampled a scaldingly hot spoonful of his homemade, unique spinach soup. "Well, you gotta admit she's gorgeous."
"People like her," said Felicity through gritted teeth, "is the reason why I'm stuck here researching nail polish remover." She rubbed her blood-red nails with the flimsy piece of alcohol-soaked cloth. "urrghhghhhhhhhh! This is hopeless."
She glanced helplessly at the draft on her screen. Loud, pink letters read "V-V-V-VANISH VARNISH!!!!! Just for you!!! Supergirl scouts for the perfect nail polish remover!!!!!"
